Convenient location
Inadequate parking, rather run-down appearance.

Breakfasts fairly good
Bedroom too cramped - lack of drawer space - no individual lighting - furniture at best diy - tv table a lump of wood wrapped up in a table cloth - mattresses hard and lumpy; no adequate staff presence: reception dealt with by the cook.

the duty manager is very warm hearted
an accident happened that the basin was broken and my finger tendon was cut. the hotel manager promised us 2 nights free living after that for waiting for the operation, but they charged us in the end.

Very happy and helpful staff from the onset. Although, other than the chef, there appeared to be only one member of staff on duty at any one time, everything ran like clockwork. The food was very well prepared, especially the cheese omelette. I remarked that other than omelettes prepared by my wife, this was the best I have had for a long time. The housemaids did an excellent job. There is also a very good bus service from just outside the hotel.
-
friendlyness of staff, breakfast was satisfactory and the tea and coffee facilities in the room were good. the room was spacious.
the bed in room 45 was uncomfatable. the shower was ok but lacked pressure. but apart from the bed not too bad.
-
The place is not really an hotel but more a run down old guest house. The room was not clean and lack any comfort.
-
Dust on a scale I have never seen before, poor decor , very tired fixtures and fitting. And a half packet of condoms covered in dust just in case you are desperate. One member of staff to cover font of house for breakfast, reception duties and also be the chef.

The Staff was very good.
My room needed updating, there was mould in the shower. Extremely creeky floorboards. Traffic noise, Hotel was next to a busy road and it did not have double glazing.
-
There wasn't any thing I liked about the hotel. However the bedding was clean.
I did not like the grubbiness of the room, the cracked tiling in the bathroom and the dirty kettle for making a drink, creaking floorboards.

The staff were all very, very helpful indeed
-
Location, price and ease of getting to Bath
-
friendly, helpful staff Excelent eavening meal,,But room was rather dated
-
The staff were extremely friendly & helpful from check in to check out, ordered taxis for us, provided bus info, brilliant
-
The four post bed with original stone wall was a very nice touch, The stay at the hotel had a pleasant and exquisitely traditional feel. Great for a city getaway.

This is the second week we stayed at the hotel and this time we were allocated a lovely room with a 4 poster bed. Although a bit dated it was comfortable. Evening meal, bar and breakfast, as before, were excellent.
